How do permitting best practices speed up the solar roll out?

As part of the revised Renewable Energy Directive (RED), member states are required to implement RED rules on a national level. This session will take stock of how EU member states have transposed RED rules in relation to the permit-granting process and accelerating administrative procedures for spatial planning of renewables. More specifically, this session will assess some of the best practices were streamlining of permit-granting procedures or designation of acceleration areas is showing positive impact for solar deployment. Likewise, the session will also assess some of the examples where implementation of acceleration areas is hindering the deployment of solar and what are the next steps to consider for a swift deployment of renewables.
