Let's flex solar around the world

In 2023, world leaders committed to a tripling of renewables capacity globally and a doubling of energy efficiency by 2030. This momentous achievement is just the first step of many towards a net-zero planet. The pressing question now is how to reach the tripling target. Integrating 11 TW of renewables into the world’s existing grid structures will only be possible with a total rethink of our energy systems and an ambitious global storage target of 1.5 TW by 2030.

This session will investigate the global flexibility revolution required as the world builds toward the tripling target, and how the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy can support this.
